DESCRIPTION:March 14th (pickled eggs) \nYou must be knowledgeable in canning before taking this class as we will not be going over basics\, only pressure canning. By the end of the class\, you will walk away with the confidence to can your own low acidic items like bone broth\, soups\, meats\, veg & more! \nYour fee per person gets you three hours of class\, a quart of your own flavorful farm fresh stock and lots of knowledge that will make you feel like a professional homesteader \nByob\, friends and food as it will be a fun interactive class & you drink every time I say prep as there’s always lots of prepping in food preservation. Don’t worry\, we only prep for the first hour. \nMay 2nd (jam or marmalade) \nJuly 25th (Basil Garlic Mater sauce) \nSeptember 26th (Spiced Apples) \nJoin us for a delightful and educational hands-on seasonal canning class\, where we delve into the art and science of preserving the bounties of each season. Get hands-on experience in the art of canning as you work with fresh\, locally sourced produce. Learn the proper methods for preparation\, sterilization\, and sealing to guarantee safe and flavorful preserved foods. \nTake-Home Treats: Participants will take home their creations\, allowing them to savor the flavors of the season throughout the year. \nAll necessary canning materials will be provided. This class will focus on safe canning practices\, ensuring that participants gain the confidence to continue preserving seasonal delights at home. \n​Pre-registration is necessary for these events. Classes are limited to 14 participants as a canner can only hold 7 quarts & we’ll be making two batches. See\, you’re learning already! By the end of the class\, you will walk away with the confidence to can your own salsa\, jellies\, applesauce & more! \nFor $60/per person\, you’ll leave with a quart of your own flavorful farm made goods created with locally grown ingredients. You will also have the opportunity to purchase more Feathers & Fruit canned goods too! Bring snacks as we will be engaged the entire class time but the casual environment will allow for grazing & drinks.  \nAbout the instructor: Jessie Gantt-Temple & her husband Robert have owned & farmed Feathers & Fruit in Soddy Daisy since 2016. With a passion for decreasing food waste\, Jessie began canning in 2018 after connecting with local farmers who an abundance of crops that no one wanted to go to waste.
